My vision on acting aligns most with the Adler Method.
Adler believed that actors must rely on their imaginations and on doing external research, rather than digging up traumatising memories and moments from their own personal lives.
Being a highly sensitive child used to be a curse getting through daily life . Acting has turned this into a blessing.
I grew up being “ The weirdo with her head in the clouds”
I always loved analysing people, I copied them and started being very good at behaving like the popular kids at school.
I unconsciously adapted the *As If Principle, and developed a great diversity of understanding people and their emotions. Acting became my tool for '“ blending in”, while venting my own emotions.
It was the very first thing I felt I was good at.
That’s when I realised that I was destined
to continue this journey.
*Philosopher William James first theorised this idea, saying, “If you want to have a quality, act as if you already have it.”
